The idea of reaching the interstellar Space is already possible with our current space Technologies. In fact, we currently have Voyager 1 and 2 exploring our Interstellar Space. Despite being the closest star to us, Alpha Centuari lies at a distance of 4.367 light years from earth. With our most powerful spacecraft, it will take us about 18,000 years to reach Alpha Centuari.

So, if we must talk of reaching this milestone, we should look towards upgrading our propulsion Technologies, and advancing our rocket systems. Although, reaching another planetary System appears nearly impossible with our current Technologies, humanity may break boundaries and attain such a milestone in a few Centuries from now.
